Thanks, Looking to replace my Defender, for something with more leg room. It needs to have low ratio. Couldn't see it in the photos.

The low ratio is done with moving the shifter over with an auto

P38 is same mechanical wise as a Defender, H frame chassis/steering box etc Just more heavy duty, a lot more comfortable and copious amounts of electrical nonsense and tantrums. Itl do everything a Defender will do better and faster except rot.
 
Yes. Just make sure when you go to view any potential car that the high/low works properly. And when on the test drive, if possible try and accelerate harshly to check for any chain slip in the transfer box. Parts are readily available for the Borg Warner though.

And I've got a replacement t/box, sitting in the garage which is available.;):D
