Forgive my ignorance, but what is a "slam panel"...?
The Urban Dictionary would seem to indicate that it is a flat board on which you can "slam" your favourite inhalable drug.
The slam panel is the metal piece that sits above the radiator and has the bonnet catch. Four bolts, two at either end ;)

That is the "bonnet platform" in Solihull-speak.....
A Ford Transit doubtless has a slam panel, but a Range Rover has a bonnet platform.

Bottom of condenser can be seen & accessed through the slots in the bumper. Look and see !! There's also plenty of room in front of the condenser once you get the fans removed.

On my P38, through the narrow slots in the bumper one can see the lower horizontal bolts at the sides of the condenser, but not the ones holding it to the chassis.
I don't like keyhole surgery, so will hand it over to our garage and they can take off the bumper and do the job properly, including some de-rusting and waxoyl protection in the area, refitting with stainless bolts etc.
But thanks for the suggestions anyway.

Not really - I have used them for many years and they are very reasonably priced (Mo's Motors, Fenstanton). The head mechanic owned an L322 until recently so is very clued up on JLR "features".
My P38 knows not to mess with him....
Never mind feeling rich, at the petrol pump I feel really poor....
