I have a mad idea! Why not buy a RR sport rather than wasting more money than one costs to end up with a older less reliable P38 that almost looks like a sport but just really to any one who has full vision a butchered P38?! Answer me that :)

this baffles me, people facelift freelander1's but technically they are the same car with different bumpers.
A p38 is not a rangerover sport.
may aswell buy a daihatsu fourtrak and make it look like a landy.

I think we should all get together and try that lol

Like I said in the first place, this isn't mine it was something I was asked to do, I have a standard p38, everyones different and know most hate the idea, just sharing pics, how about instead of all the oh dear, why would you comments take it for what it is and if don't like don't look, don't mind negative comments for crap work but seriously even though most don't like it its not shoddy, and yes I do all the work including the airbrushing could you:scratching_chin: whatever you do as a job you are asked and you do it ,, it's the same for me i was asked and I have done it thought I would share the progress but guess not such a good idea after all, if its not pure it's not right but does that include all mods or just bodywork?
I'll post a final pic once assembled

Thanks
Gary

Me too. I do a bit of drawing for my job, I wouldn't know where to start.

Oh, and what paint/primer combination would you recommend me to use when I re-spray my d pillar trims?

Good quality work....BUT......Can never understand why people feel the need to make the car look what it aint and throw money at it !! At the end of the day, I feel that the resale value will plummet because it's still a P38 with all the potential problems and the resale prices have already gone through the floor unlike the Classics and earlier L.R's.
Would have thought that the cash could have been better spent on buying the "Real thing".

:confused2::nothingtoadd:

I do admire the good work that went into this, bloody good work and it looks like you might've avoided the normal pitfalls of RRFF/RRS conversions by not having it look like you've driven into the curb too hard (won't know for sure until finished pictures).

No doubt the owner will feel like a prat after a few hundred miles and sell it as a "one of, totaly convinsing P38 Sport. MUST L@@K". But with a reserve/buyitnow of 12k.

On principal you just shouldnt do it, i consider it a crime , someone near me put a RR sport bumper on a TD5 disco looks so **** :)

I've seen a Hilux with a RR Sport front end. It looked totes amazeballs. Proper baller job like, wikid innit.

Funnily enough it has been on eBay (and I think autotrader) for the better part of a year. Not sure why. :scratching_chin:

It was good work though and the parts were a better fit than a P38 to RRS conversion. Just not sure why you'd do it.

Thanks, and for painting plastics I would prep with 500 grit as good enough to key surface but not leave harsh marks, then plastic prime, normal prime, wet sand with 800 then colour and clear of choice ( if plastic primer is coloured no need to prime again, I use transparent plastic primer so thought I'd put that step in ) hope that helps.

It's been a long job and more, the plan was to do as a tester as he wanted to do a few and export them, and havn't charged him full price as he does mechanical work for me when I'm pushed for time, and aslo acts as a demo of my skills if you like, if had to charge properly it would need to cover around 4 weeks of work plus materials so wouldn't be cheap but everyone has a project that they keep ploughing money into so it's worth it to them if nobody else. He has just got 20" wheels for it and now needs spacers to fill arches and awaiting wiring plugs to sort front end along with colour coding mirrors, handles etc so hopefully next week will be back together and will post assembled pics.

Thanks
Gary
