Hi Everyone,
My 2001 P38 DT has engine disabled on the dashboard and the remote for the key does not work although I can open the car using the key and all doors that should unlock do so, this happened after a main fuse blew and I had messages saying fuse 12 & 15 had blown, after I replaced the main fuse everything seemed fine until I went to start the engine and I got the engine disabled message and press remote,and the remote to lock the car didnt work, the trip meter has also gone back to zero and its the MPG figure is trying to calculate itself,well it would if the car would start.Does anyone know what I need to do to get things all working.

Have you tried resyncing the key???

Hi everyone, tried syncing key the mozz way tonight, tried it a few times but no joy,still have engine disabled and key fob remote not working and dont have anyother error messages showing

, would a syncmate sort it/

hi keith ,have you changed the batteries in your remote ???? also is the main car battery fully charged ????????? if no to either your ****ing against the wind ,,,plus is the immobiliser flashing away on the dash ????? ..please explain re your remote ???? does the red light flash when pressing either pressle ...also whereabouts are you in i.o.m. im regularly at laxey cheers mozz

Hi mozz, batteries are new and they are fitted the correct way,the little red light on the dash flashes very quickly when i lock the car then after a few seconds it slows done to a flash about every second,the little red light on the dash goes off when the car is unlocked,the red red light on the remote flashes quite quickly when the key is put in the ignition and the red light on the key will light up when i press either button on the remote,battery on car is charged. I am in Douglas near the NSC

hi keith , best to ring me during the day as im at home all day ( retired ) so can sort it over phone for you doesn't sound as though its lost sync between becm and ecu , should be able to clear it ,,, after 10am is good for me ,,,cheers mozz

Update on my engine disabled message problem, I sent BECM and engine ECU to Callrova and I have refitted it today and everything is working perfectly........for now

,fantastic service from Callrova & many thanks to those that tried to help, I will disconnect the battery the next time I mess with P38 electrics!

That is a very, VERY good idea. If the battery is connected NEVER EVER unplug or plug anything in with the ignition switched on..
