O ossieman New Member Mar 11, 2009 #1 Hi is it a straight forward swop over from a 4.6 blown engine to 4.0 on a 2000 p38 range rover. Will all the ancillaries swop over and are the manifolds etc the same will the ecu need to be changed? Cheers Ossie

G gavbriggs Well-Known Member Mar 11, 2009 #2 what year is the original? if they are both gems or both thor then its a straight swap, the ecu will have to be set to 4.0 i think. i think the heads, block and ancilaries are the same for both engines, the manifilds are different(between thor and gems)

Irishrover Well-Known Member Mar 11, 2009 #4 Give it a try with the engine ecu, should run. Any probs, change it for the 4.6-it will self teach over about 100 miles
