After returning from holiday I found my rangy has locked me out , battery was flat. A friend somehow managed to charge the battery but the car won't accept the code. I have followed the handbook exactly to the letter starting with the four turns entering the code and finishing with one turn , but I still can't get in . I can't even open the bonnet or boot. I know the code is correct as it is with the original paperwork and I used it some years ago. I know nothing about CAR electrics or mechanics and to make matters worse I'm flat broke . If I can get in and get the car started it runs like a dream after spending over a grand last year on the air suspension . It's a range rover vogue 2.5 diesel. Can anyone HELP or do I have to scrap this beautiful motor .

When you say "Locked Out" can you explain exactly what you mean?
Physical key in the doorlock doesn't open the drivers door? - That's a broken/missing link on the lock.
You CAN open the bonnet without opening the drivers door (not easy, but possible).
Not being able to enter the EKA to unlock the engine-disabled status is the drivers door switchpack contacts.
If you can open a door and get access to the diagnostic socket you can enter EKA from there if you can find someone local with a diagnostic box.
I thought that lifting either front inside cill-latchpull would operate all locks to open, can you get to either the drivers or passengers cill button, or a lasso across to an inside door-pull?

Scrapping a whole car for £145 worth of new drivers door switchpack would be a bit drastic?

I mean totally locked out the key won't open a door or anything , all that happens is the indicators flash. I can't get inside the car at all . I've been trying for four days and think the only way will be to smash a window but then I still won't be able to start her

Ok first welcome:)

I feel your pain having locked both keys inside a running car on a cold frosty day:( don’t ask:oops:
Yes it is doable it involves a bit of jiggery but no windows broken. (Similar to what dan has already aludeded to) but I will not post here how I did it.

As stated first post in a relevant forum subsection and loads of help.
If you are getting indications that the EKA is going in IE indicator flashes, you maybe lucky.
After entering the code I take it your remote does work?
Enter code correctly. Then put key in turn to unlock and push unlock button.
Turn to lock and push lock button.
Then try with key out with remote to unlock car.
It’s a long shot:D
But best ask in Range Rover section and the experts will help.

Oh did I say enjoy it :):) when it’s going:eek:
