Hi can anyone throw any light on my problem with my p38 air suspension, compressor wont pump. Have taken it off. And on the bench works perfectly. Tried the fuse and relay both ok. Regards not del boy.

Could be the thermal switch in the top of the compressor that has failed.
 
On the bench test you really need to test the pressure, I am sure that with the good advice above you have discovered there is quite a bit to check on. Pumps hate running for long and it soon knackers the plastic piston if they do, even with a working thermal switch.

You mean the Teflon piston ring?
 
Thanks to everyone who made comments on my on goi g problems with EAS. On p38. Regards not delboy.
Have you checked the main connector for the compressor? they have been known to need a squeeze to tighten up the contacts.Do you have power there? With the compressor connected and the ignition on if you earth the Orange wire and it runs then the thermal switch is knackered.Any other faults showing?any message on the dash? If you have a hard fault then the compressor won't run I'm sure this is all covered in wammers guide.
