Hi all, ,During the last scorching day ,and sat in traffic over hour, I got the Xmas tree ,I was still up.
Just run easunlock when get back . Before I ran it I noticed pump wasn't having none of it ( usual checks ) and bushes burnt out . 15 mins later all back together ,pumping great ,I'd done the piston seal a while ago .
Gone in easunlock ,ran faults , no faults . Cleared...xx
EVERYTHING is working as it should ,apart from going up lol...
Checked the exhaust, no leaks in seal ....., no leaks anywhere ....where next .??? ..apart from " funny farm " . appreciated.

Is the pump actually making any pressure?

I the pump stopped working due to brushes burnt out, it would eventually use all the air . . . . . . . hence the error lights.

The ECU doesn't know the pump has failed, but if the car is too low or too high the ECU tries to adjust. If heights don't change then it faults.

Imagine ALL the symptoms of a worn pump , with a disintegrated seals ........... but compressor blowing strong ...........I'll check the air dryer. I am right in thinking it's the next stop from compressor...
Pwood you are correct , it actually went higher,I guess the heat ..soon as turned off , it self leveled to the floor .
Rubberknees, yes I've tried that, and could keep finger there .....but brother couldn't ,there again I've fingers like sausages about to pop ..
What should psi actually be .. appreciated 👍

believe its round the 120 psi mark. leave a door open with engine running compressor should fill tank in about 6 to 8 mins then suspension will rise when you close door and press up button. if it doesn't not enough air being produced

Ahhh HHhH one of them faults it was !!.. turns out I'm pumping 90 odd psi ,for around 15 seconds , then down to 15psi , .so stripped it down again , fitted the spare xj8 kit . no damage to ones I removed .Still same problem ... got nothing to test reed valves ,or the magnet .....
So I spent 356 pounds and bought a new one.,,👍

Don't bin the old one, it can be fixed, I suspect the bearings are not good.

That's why I always test the motor while the piston & crank are removed. Easy to feel any bearing issues before re-assembly.
Funny enough ,it's not bearing.silent smooth ... I'll take it apart on video , no burning , no change in tone ?? I need the motor, so had to stop poncing about , I also have some kind of warranty......

With no load, the bearings may feel OK, a different matter as they heat up under load, pumping well for a short period is often a sign of the bearings tightening up slowing the motor down.

Blow it out with the cap off (the end away from the inlet filter) and see how much dust comes out.
