I own a 1995 2.5 TD Range Rover and the car has been in the local garage for the last 2 weeks but they have been unable to fix the vehicle inspitr of replacing the air bags. They now reckon that the ECU unit under the drivers seat is faulty and needs to be replaced. Any suggestions?

I agree - what are the symptoms? That would be a good start.

A replacement EAS ECU wouldn't be expensive 2nd hand anyway but it's not a common failure item so it would be helpful if you could describe what is wrong with it.

Is the garage a Landy specialist? If not, then perhaps you should take it somewhere else - the eas system needs a certain amount of knowledge to diagnose and fix.

Where about's are you?

I have the EAS dignostic software and cable.

I've already successfully used it on 2 P38's. If you live anywhere nr Manchester you're welocome to give it a try or you can but it yourself of eBay for £15 or so.

The software is a free download from Range Rover P38a - EAS Unlock Suite
I believe they also sell the cable

or here on eBay:

no he's feckin not, he lives in birmingham, now john, tell the nice people where you really live!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

if you want help you must get to grips with the fact that:

A, we are not mind readers

B, we dont give a fcuk if you burn it or fix it

but since you have asked, dont let me put you off, you need to tell us what is happening and where you are. then go clean all the connections to the ecu under the passenger seat and the ones behind the panels on the sides of both footwells.
