Hi just been out and tried again with software no the values are out by 1-2 which i assume is not bad, i have measured the height and it seems to to spot on now, i am still concerned about the pump run times how often would u say the pump should run on and off ?

If they are within 1 or 2 millimetres that's good. How often the compressor runs depends on what is happening assuming no leaks. On flat ground with the engine running and bonnet open mine runs until the pressure blows, stops for a few seconds and then repeats the cycle. With the bonnet closed it doesn't run.

Hi with the bonnet open mine is doing the same, when on a run i find it will run switch off then back on again a few mins a time. sometimes it will not run for say 5-7mins then run for a min or so then back off, I have checked all the possible places for leaks, it wont drop overnight now since i re-furb the pump with seals and liner. I am just a bit worried as ive got a 400 mile run to do in her in a few weeks and dont want the pump to overheat and shut down totally. Maybe just me as i fitted a led inside the cab about a month ago and can see how often i runs, it may have been doing this since i had the car over 2 years now but never knew run times as never had the led fitted at the time.

Simonmorgan ... been having similar problem with mine and need to do a long journey south too but just turned music volume up to drown pump noise as i dont have an indicator thingy and hope that ignorance is bliss !!

Ladyranger .. have tried for ages to get well orf man with plenty of acres who loves to fix landys , ..... no luck so far, but if i find one ....... then i'm keeping him .. lol
psst ... i must admit i got a little excited about the guy who could keep it up for a week too !!! ;-)

That is one way of doing it but am worried as the pump is getting very hot too touch after about a 20 mile run. Am worried that the new seal will burn out and pump fail while on the motorway. Should the pump get very hot and is this normal.

All sounds normal to me. Compressor running temperature is 120C. Ignorance is bliss, take the LED off and stop worrying:D

Good man that puts me at ease a bit was thinking of maybe rigging up some sort of cooling fan in the housing to cool the pump down a bit

yeah and the ones with 600 acres tend to hate horses making there land sick so think i may stick to me other half that pays the bills and lets me have me horses. although he has said he would do the rust spot....after i told him i might be selling it:mad: . ha ha

you shouldn't be able to hear your pump running though, the time i heard my pump running it was on it's way out. are you sure you aren't hearing your ABS pump running, that runs after using your brakes.
