the word being clue,and yeah probably not as bright as you as you only have to read a title of a post to know what the whole post is about,so why did you read this post if its another boring post about fuel economy or are you only here to start onother flame war,oh dear how sad.
 
I agree, a bit harsh. The 'experiment' was an extreme one and I would question the safety aspects of running a lightened vehicle at such high tyre pressures but fuel is the biggest expense aside from depreciation we face.

I fully appreciate that a RR is not a Yaris and have my eyes wide open to the ownership costs but I, like many others do much of my own maintenance. The reason? To save money and minimise the Total Cost of Ownership.

Fuel economy is just another aspect of that TCO. If you can afford to blast around in a 4.6 at Warp 10 then good luck to you but reducing the fuel bill will go a long way to help folk keep their RRs and not have to sell them. When/if that happens we are all in bother as their prices will fall through the floor.

It's human nature to want something for (relatively) nothing and irrespective of whether that is a simplistic way of viewing this issue, it's probably the reason why so many RR owners buy for example LPG kits. It allows them the benefits of RR ownership for a reduced cost which surely has to be a good thing. :)
