Hi Everyone.

Could someone point m in the right direction to get a replacement Diagnostic socket for a p38.

When I move the socket about I get the occasional connection, but more often than not I dont.

I've rang a few places and they all want to sell me a loom for £300, when the plug itself will probably be a tenner tops.

Thanks

Get one from a breaker. Alternative is to try and resolder the connections at your existing OBD socket using new lengths of cable spliced in and heat shrink sleeving over the joints. The EAS pins are a pain to communicate with at the best of times and need to be clean and make a 100% connection with the plug.
Try a PM to Dantheman4.6 as he breaks P38's if needs be.:behindsofa:

Doesn't really clarify whether it's the socket (Which is what you need) or the plug.
I would have asked the question first.

OOOPssss, I must admit I went on the picture which showed the female OBD2...

Do you think 1.6mm unshrunk heat shrink will be OK...

Fingers crossed....

Yes should be ok as it's only data plus a 12V supply to power the diagnostics, max current around 3A

Hiya,

OK I got the replacement OBDII plug this morning.

Before I go and blow up my pride & joy could some please tell me which are pins 1 and 9 from this diagram.

As I look at the plug with the widest on the bottom is number 1 pin on the bottom left and 9 pin top left?

And what does 6 & 14, and 10 & 2 mean?

Cheers guys
