ok we have a customers 2002 Range Rover in with seemingly a faulty deisel pump. Its the BMW engine but heres the problem.....

We have been searching for the correct tool to enable the removal and locking of the chain.

We bought one tool from sealey that looked like it would work but the outer threaded collar was too small for the front aperture so wouldnt screw into the front of the pump moutning/housing.

I then ordered the OTHER sealey tool hoping that it would be a different diameter to the other one. NOPE !! the collar was the same size so again no good.

So What tool is it that is needed to get this pump off. Can somebody PLEASE help as it is driving me insane
Thanks alot
Warren

Warren,

6 Pot Diesel ............READ ON>>>>>>

Thinkin "out of the Box" here .. the P38 Ceased in 2002 (replaced by the L322 ..

Thought to ponder ..... As the P38 used the BMW M51 Engine (6 Pot) yer "Bits" SHOULD FIT

HOWEVER if (by chance) This "Last of the Line" P38 got a L322 Engine (6 Pot M57 BMW engine) put in it (or indeed just a "M57" diesel pump)

you'd need This >>>>>>> Diesel Injection Pump Remover & Sprocket Retainer - BMW M47/M57 Sealey VS4553
