do you mean the light on the dash behind the binnical or the ones behind the switches in the middle of dash above the radio

It's not hard- just nerve wracking in the extreme as you remove the CBEP (Cheap, Brittle European Plastic) panels to get to the HEVAC unit. The bulbs are the same as in the speedometer. I have a post somewhere on rangerovers.net in which I list out all the interior bulbs on the P38. Let me see if I can find it.... but in the meantime, this is for your viewing pleasure.

Anyone know what you need for dash/binnacle? I'm missing a couple of the bulb holders. It's not the end of the world but would be nice to see a trailer warning light at least

And what about the tiny bulbs that back light the dash buttons, like cruise, hazards etc? The bulb doesn't seem to be separate to the holder

Yes they are. Replaced a few in the past although cannot remember now what they were like.

Isn't that the forum without s sense of humour? We don't need a link by the way,
I dunno about a sense of humour but it WAS a great place to get help until the chatbot which could only say "Use the search function" took over. There was also a fair amount of ego padding and talking down to others although there's some of that going on here too but still, there's a lot of value there, as there is here.

Sorry about the link. I won't post one next time.

I went on a Jag forum when I had a problem with an XJ40 blowing the seal on the oil filter. All they wanted to talk about was which car shampoo and polish they used.waste of time.:rolleyes:

I have a similar problem with a BMW group I belong to. A lot of talk, but very little actual help so there's not an awful lot to contribute, nor is there much to gain. At least mine's an E38 (yeah I have an E38 and a P38, go figure) with relatively well documented issues, and fewer of them than the newer cars.

It's not like here, or rangerovers.net where there's people who are willing to share and help out. The ego padding isn't much of an issue. People who feel the need to can inflate their egos all they want with the EAS compressor of their choice, so long as people asking for help can get it from people willing to help, as opposed to getting a "use the search function" all the time.

Either way, @kermit_rr the part numbers for Land Rover, as well as the Ring equivalents are in my post over there. Use the link if you like or whatever other way there is to find it, to get there. I'm curious to know how someone using the Ring equivalents will colour the light bulbs, though. The originals have these little coloured silicon condoms on them to turn the light green or amber as the case may be but they're far too fragile to remove safely from the originals to transplant onto the Ring bulbs (CHILDREN: This is a very foolish thing only people with Range Rovers will do. Do NOT reuse condoms, EVER). Using a marker pen is unlikely to last so I'm wondering if there's a kind of translucent paint or plasti dip or model airplane shrink film possibility that has been explored.

Anybody?

The rubber coloured condom bits come off dead easily. Just slip on / off. Might be different in your climate, I guess.

Marty replaced his with LEDs but that requires soldering. Best make sure they are dimmable too.
