The dreaded book symbol has shown up. It comes on after the engine has run for a minute or so and whether the a/c on or off. Everything seems to work including condensation on the bigger pipe under the bonnet. I wonder whether it just needs a re-gas and fault cleared or something more sinister. (Bought the car a year ago and haven't had an a/c check done so don't know when it was last done). Any ideas??

Could be the blend motors. Get it hooked up to read the fault codes, much quicker then searching in the blind. If it is the blend motors, you can probably fix them for free, see my other post.

mine came on when i turned the passenger heat on full .
it stuck .
she wasnt happy .

i played with it (pressed every button , turned both heat buttons up and down) and it fixed itself !!!!

we are in so-cal , and use air everyday .
upto now the symbol hasnt come back on .
im presuming it hasnt been used on full heat much , and was just having a little tantrum ;)

today i re-read the manual , and took both heat controls off LO , and have had it on AUTO .

i plan to leave on auto , but play around a bit more to see if it comes back .

I tend to leave it in Auto and both heat values the same to avoid the blender motors working against each other. Its still on.

in that case , you neded to do some button pressing ;)

(make sure all the different directions are working etc.)

i managed to get the book again today ...

i noticed my ext temp was blank all the time the book was on , never noticed if it does this before .

i pressed the button to direct air to face and feet , turned car off , and book had diasappeared when i turned thye car back on .

where is other post need info on l/h blend motor

Plugged into Testbook. Its the main up and down flap stuck in the 81% up position. Everything else working fine, just that it puts more air up than down to the footwell. It's been suggested that it could even be something fallen down a screen vent, e.g. pencil which has stuck the flap. In any event a bit of stripping down is needed to fix. Does anyone know if the whole dash has to come out for this one or just the RHS kick panel? The motor is low down on the right apparently.

For a RHD P38 you may be able to get to it by removing the binnacle. I have had a problem with the book symbol showing and cold air being blown onto my legs. I have changed the two lower blend motors (one on either side) while the upper one on the right hand side seemed to be working. I am still in the process of putting it all back together. It is a real **** of a job. I also changed the pollen filters. These I have been told can lead to the book symbol illuminating when they become choked with dust & dirt. I found the removal of the passenger airbag help to expose the left hand blend motor. There are air ducts in the way on both sides which the manual say you need to remove the whole dash to get to the blend motors. I found that you can bend/twist them out of the way enough to get a screwdriver in. It is worth investin in a 1/4" flexidrive.

Currently, patch Ultima Online accounts for a decent 400 items or characters, most 1,500 EverQuest characters and items are up guild wars gold for vendue on eBay. And the warning to users may bed slight change, as Lustenberger admits that 989 Studios faculty not implement the rein. "There are likely any people who are making a extant selling EverQuest characters."

uhh ??????

I wouldnt get carried away with pulling the dash apart. Invest in a quick session with someone who has Testbook, Rovacom or otherand then you will know exactly what you have to do. Sounds like it could be nothing more than a heater core temp sensor a 10 min job and about £10.....
