can anyone point me in the right direction please.
We want to strip a 1997 P38 2.5 diesel to a running / rolling chassis, no body, no body control unit, but that common problem of the immobiliser is getting in my way. After hours of searches I am unable to find a solution to bypassing/removing the immobiliser, I can run the engine but have no way of contolling it other than going back to a manual pump. so my questions are:
  • Has anyone found a way to trick the ecu by intercepting the few wires that link the BSI to the ECU.
  • Do you know of someone who can reprograme the ECU to run the engine without the BSI saying ok.(I don't want to fit a reprogramed BSI as we are binning that)
  • Do you know of a brand or supplier of a 'stand alone' ECU

Ha Ha! there are quicker ways to steal a RR than messing with a BSi & ECU but really! Who in there right mind would want to steal a bucket of problems:)

Thanks nisbeam, the ECU doctor was unable to do it but gave me some numbers to try

£200 all in, to take my ECU and remove the immobiliser crap. He may be able to help you guys who want to remove the immobliser from your car retaining your body control, keys etc.
This means we can now test the car and start stripping the body off so if you know of anyone who wants bodywork - cheap if you collect just drop us a line or call 07703 980 666 and speak to Jamie all other smaller bits we can post, We'll list parts etc soon in the 'for sale' section.

speak to ian barkley on 01516454541,tell him spanish alan told you to call,see if he can help.he will do home visits depending on distance and wether a police escort is required for your area of ellesmere port (ha ha only jokeing) regards alan ps hes in rock ferry and you definitly need a police escort there
