hi what does cca mean and what difference does it make to starting please ?
Cold Cranking Amps - how much it can release in one go. Bigger it is, the easier it starts. Amp hours is how long it can keep it up - not the cranking, the supply of charge to seats etc.

Highest cca you can fit in the space provided is the simple which battery answer, forget the brands and marketing.
Surely a decent brand can stamp it's name by making a battery that CAN actually deliver those claims!
I've bought batteries that claimed to be awesome and it turned out they were less than adequate

I'd avoid halfauds, I've had two from there for the wife's car and they barely lasted the guarantee period,same with Europarts. Next time I'm putting a proper tractor battery on it

I still have two Halfords batteries in warranty and both are duff
I can't find the receipt, but they know me so I simply get a replacement battery... Maybe I should ask if I can have polish to the same value

As you said, claim to be good, forget the marketing get the cca sorted.
There are some real good suppliers on line now days.

Seems I was mistaken. As promised. Had a look. 800 ah Bosch T3-050 as pictured. @ OP. This one seems to do the job just fine.

Jag's are not worth a lot these day's unless it's a classic.
I would never buy a battery on line. I need to be able to take it back in case of problems rather than send it back.

I buy my batteries on line as they usually pack up when I am in Russia or Turkey or Kazackstan and there are no Halfords there and they dont accept any warrenty claims so I usually buy on line and then return them when i get back.
I don't buy batteries from Halfrauds even though i have a trade card, i don't believe in paying for two batteries up front in case the first one fails. Many do i suppose.

Too right there. £950 for a 4.0 S-type with 65k and all the toys on it. One front wing a bit scraped (previous owner was a grandad who traded her in for a new one) and the expansion tank was leaking. Had a few shocks in the following years: replaced all plugs and coils, that was the best part of £400, IIRC. Then there's the rear subframe that rotted out last autumn. Had to get a donor vehicle for that so that was another £500 but now it is galvanised so hopefully that's a job that won't need redoing. Drives like a dream and is lovely to look at though!
Had no issues with that batterymegastore site. Usually I go to the tip because they have top notch batteries for a few notes.
How much does it cost to post a duff one back to them? I know of someone who bought from their Spanish branch, his battery failed two years into a four year warranty. The Spanish branch has ceased trading. The UK branch won't honour the warranty and shipping it back would be astronomic if they did. I prefer to get mine from the battery outlet about a mile from me, at trade prices. A couple of pints of fuel to return it if needed. A lot less hassle.

I am trying to recall how. Any faulty ones I have take back in the last 52 years... none!
And if it's faulty when delivered it's their problem under distance selling regs.
