hi all , can any one suggest what is the best battery for my 1999 dse p38 please ? I am looking at a ultra plus 120ah with 1000cca/sae, 950cca/en ,4 years warranty does that sound about right ?.

I bought an Oldham battery for my car (V8) and even though she would sit for weeks in minus conditions over winter, she "always" fired up no bother.

That's my recommendation :)

Hello thanks for your reply , what was the type of battery , and is the car diesel or petrol if that makes a difference ?

On the diesel fit the largest battery you can get in. But if it has any calcium about it up the alternator set point to a minimum of 14.2 or better still 14.5 volts

ooh, now, without looking I cant tell you the specs, but I went on the recommendation of a friend who fits a lot of batteries and I have to say I haven't been disappointed.

Some days, I have the stereo blasting out with engine off and even 4hrs later, she starts on the button. Mines the V8 petrol, but she jump starts just about anything, petrol or diesel.

The chaps on here may have different idea's of what make, but I am merely stating my own opinion after having the Oldham battery for a year and never been let down by it.

Platinum? That's what I have in my Jag. In fact, the one in my Jag is really for a big diesel but it flicks the V8 over like you wouldn't believe. Good job because I do less miles these days and she can sit for a while.

Even second-hand from the tip it was nearly 40 notes. Glad it has a good rep as I thought that was pricey.

Not sure what it is Grrrrrr, but it's black with bold red writing if that helps :D

I'll have a gander just now.... Off to hospital for the needle in the shoulder. Was crying with pain at 02:00 onwards this am :( Worst it's been so far. Convinced it knows it's gonna get it's arse kicked and is going out with a bang o_O Even now, it's howling sore... I just want a nights sleep :(:oops:

At that money you have to be joking. Glad i get mine trade.

I didn't pay that price. Just trying to find the right one. I paid just over £100 for it at the time but yes that is very expensive :)

Think you need at least 830 cca not 680

I will check the cca but it turns over happily and starts almost instantly. I will check it tonight and get back to you.
