borrow a good battery and connect it to yours with jump leads. then very very carefully undo the terminals on your battery and remove them with the jump leads still attached. ffs don't let the +ve terminal or jump lead touch anything. then charge your battery while the temporary battery powers your car. reverse the procedure when charging is complete.

tbh, provided you've got a decent charger and only use it in the trickle charge mode, I can't think of a reason why you shouldn't charge yer battery whilst it's still connected. I've done it on me slitty.
But I accept no liability if yer blow yer Rangie up.

I had same problem, only thing was mine conked out in the middle of nowere, had to phone local landrover up they said get down fast before they close with mot and log book, they needed reg and chasis number, gave me my cars code there and then, was mobile within the hour, hope this helps

On a P38 you do not need a security card or more than 1 key. When you connect a new battery press the left button on your fob then put the key in the lock and turn to the left.
if central locking doesn’t actuate press the right button on your fob, then put the key in the lock and turn to the right.

The key is now in sync. Put it in the ignition and start.

If key doesn’t sync this is down to an electrical fault between the door lock and the becm. Most common is the black wire in the door becomes snagged with the window regulator or the loom in the door hinge rubber boot has broken wires.

Let me know if you have changed it yet but you shouldnt have a problem

Dunnit!
Seems my rangie has the "friendly" re-synch ie stick key in,turn, wait for engine to start and then drive!!

Thanks anyway peeps........nice to know theres help at hand.:)

One question...whats a slitty????????????????
