yeah get rave cd 2 here

theres other landrovers there too

you will need to mount the file as its a .iso file. let me know if you dont know how to do this and i can talk you through it. you can also burn the file to cd but again if youre not sure i can help you out with it!

(just like that john!!!)

Cheers for the help guys, currently downloading the enourmous file, no idea about 'mounting the file' but that's something to work out tomorrow.

Currently wondering if I should have stuck with the classic as seem to have a fair few problems with the new toy but I guess once I sort them out they should only come along one at a time or am I being very naive.

Alcohol 120%, which can be downloaded free for a trial, burns Rave onto a CD very quickly and easily. Just Google Alcohol 120% and you will find the program. If you put Rave on a CD you can use it on any computer, I take my laptop and Rave with me when I travel, I'm that confident of the P38's reliability LOL

when i eventually build the car pc it will have rave permanently mounted ready to browse!!! thats how confident i am, coupled with the eas software and cable, the lpg kit software and cable, internet and sat nav, there should be no problem situation i cant get out of!! hopefully!!!

Found a free program that allowed me to mount RAVE so all up and working now.

I've got an old laptop so I think I'll load RAVE and the mount program onto that so I can take it to the car and read outside, might also use work facilities to print out the manual and stick it in a lever arch file ready for access and covering in oily fingers.

Speaking of oil any recommendations for the 2.5 diesel when I do a change on it (might as well if I'm doing the gearbox)

As we are on the subject of oil changes and the like, apart from transmission oil and engine oil, what else should be changed on a DIY service?,did i see differentials raise it's head?

anything with oil in mate will need changing(i havnt done mine yet cos its been fecked) engine, g/box, does tranny case need it replacing???, diffs!!

Good to see i'm not the only one with this problem. I've downloaded the rave software but can't burn it . Will try the suggestions later today( children allowing). Thank's everyone:)

I types in ISO mounting and google gave me a list of things, chose one near the top which said it was free but unsuported by microsoft, it gave a link and simple instructions on how to install. Job done and mounted permanently on my computer, might also stick it on my work laptop so when I'm bored at work I can figure out how I'm going to tackle the next job ha ha.

I did notice that RAVE manual had a section on maintainence so reckon that's a good place to start for the items that need servicing.

rave is basically the bible for landrover, its what the lr fellas use.

i use power iso for mounting images, i'm familiar with it and it covers all my needs. there are many different products out there that will do the same job, its just preference ans in some cases cost!!

i'm a great fan of getting stuck in and seeing what happens, i usually consult the manuals for a brief outline of what to do but generally find wadeing in, both feet first, is the best method!!!!:D:D

And then realising at the end when you put it back together you have 3 screws/nuts left over :)

well if thats the case then obviously it didnt need the screws in the first place and its over engineered!!!:D:D:D

well at least until the engine falls out that is!!

i usually get a few zip bags and mark them with a brief discription and some kind of order i took em out! its not fool proof but it helps.

Genius, zip bags are a mcuh better idea than the top of my tool box, the glove box, the door pockets, centre consol or all together in the footwell.

I must try that plan, being a bit more organised might help things go back together a lot quicker.
