hi guys,
another wee problem with car, hope sombody can help
couple days ago alarm kept being triggered usually middle of night
this kept up until 2day when this morning car wouldn,t start atall,
checked battery very low ,try'd jump startin no good, put new battery in,still wont start ,keeps turning over as if diesel not gettin through to fire it up , changed filter still no good just keep turning over ,not even a puff of smoke, has anybody had any of these problems, feels like a wire or sensor problem .any help guys. cheers, pat.

sounds like rf interterance,go into the boot remove the plastic parcel shelf trim,on the drivers side.when you have done that you will see a wire that attaches to the rear quarter panel glass, disconnect it,from the rf receiver not the glass, charge you battery and get it up and going,if it works ok over a few days, then either leave the wire unplugged,or upgrade to the newer version of the rf receiver.it is a common problem as satellties and mobile phone masts can interfere and play havoc with the becm

hi andy,
try'd removing reciever feed, but still wont start,i feel its a fuel problem,if i could at least get it to start then i could get the electrics checked, is there any chance there is a fuel cut off switch maybe through the imobiliser or something for it to be starved of fuel, cheers pat.

if the engine turns over like normal but will not fire you will probably need a ecu re-learn .
most good autoelectricians should be able to do this for you.the becm under the drivers seat isn't talking to the ecu under the bonnet because one might have changed it's four digit code.this seems to be a very common problem all stemming back to the rf receiver.
cut the blue aerial wire to about three inches this disconnects it from the window so reduces range cutting down on interference if this does't work you will need a uprated rf receiver box from landrover
hope this helps

Mine has just done the same.
It lost the signal between the BeCM and the engine ecu so the immobiliser wouldn't turn off allowing it to fire up.
I have had it re programmed and it's fine now.
This is the second time it has happened without any warning.
The problem originally occured due to water ingress into the drivers footwell from the pollen filter covers and after extensive work by a contact to clean up the connections etc and re programme the system it worked fine.
I now need a new BeCM to cure it properly, OUCH!
