Nice one, I'll have a look later and take a few pics for reference on here.....

Say I did have to change the CDL switch in the door, is that an easy task and if so, will it wreak havoc on the already huffy electrical system???
Changing the drivers doorlock switchpack/latch is easy. Even a numpty like me managed it.
No more "ghost locking/unlocking" while driving along. EKA code can be entered (I don't need to as I have a Nanocom and can use that).
Passive immobilisation is a pain if your sense-coil isn't working, so I switched that off.

For the cost of the door-latch with its new switchpack (c.£144) it was a worthwhile investment IMHO.

I think the only person who might be able to do this reliably is @Rick-the-Pick.
Nanocom and Faultmate can be used to turn off the immobiliser as Wammers said. On the diesel, with EKA and the immobiliser turned off alarm left on the car can be operated with just the key (no FOB's needed). It also overcomes problems with the door latch micro switches at least temporarily. As sync from the BECM to engine ECU is different on the V8, I have no idea if this applies.

Passive immobiliser can be disabled, as can the need for the EKA code that resets passive immobilisation. ECM immobilisation sync to BECM cannot be disabled if the ECM is set robust and remains active.

I did not say ECM immobilisation sync to BECM could be disabled. With the immobiliser turned off the ECM syncs with the BECM automatically (on the diesel) or is never deactivated. No more "Engine Immobilised" messages on the message centre due to dodgy micro switches in the door with the immobiliser turned off, no need for the EKA code either with EKA turned off.

Yes i know you didn't, i was just clarifying the situation. Some get confused with the engine immobilised by passive immobilisation and the engine being immobilised by ECM/BECM sync. They are two different things. Passive immobilisation will put a message up and engine will not turn. Loss of ECM/BECM sync shows no message and the engine will turn but will never start.
