I would also recommend checking all your door switches, and bonnet switch (although I would have thought you would get a message on the display of these were tripping the alarm) but easy to check and rule out anyway.

Again, and I emphasise, not from experience with these just fault finding in general, couldn't you try shorting the lock electrics and see if that cures it, before you buy a lock mechanism? It would be a shame to buy the lock if it's just a microswitch that needs replacing. Or you replace the lock and find it doesn't cure it. The 'broken' wires worry me, they shouldn't be under any stress to cause them to fail. You're sure that somebody else hasn't been in there before and tried to camouflage another issue?

hi, i would check the wires coming from the door to the car there in the rubber gromit,i had same problem my wires were all corroded,if the rubber isnt on right water gets into the wires, and make sure you always turn the interior lights off via the centre button, because you might come out one day and it wont start because its went out of sync, hopefully that wont happen, better to be on the safe side until fixed, pat.

Well Guys, I replaced the entire lock and window mechenism on n/s rear door and it cured the problem, Interior light now going off when shut and the alarm has now starting working again without any issues. :D
Even the lazy locking works now.

The wires in the loom had been butchered, looks like that at least 4 wires had been cut and botched
I soldered the wires, but the interior light wasn't working when opening door, obviously with all the botch up in there it was just shorting out everywhere so the replacement was the easiest option.

Thanks for all your help, If you every need someone to strip your car, I've become a dab hand at it now ;)
