£268+vat at LR direct. delivery either tomorrow or Monday. Waiting for their CS to get back to me to confirm delivery.

Out of interest, did it flash on on the dash 'alarm fault' when you put the key in? Mine did for ages, replaced the ultrasonic sensor on the b-pillar and that sorted it. As for the battery drain, I just disconnected the blue wire and no problems since, not paying the money they want for a replacement!

hi yes it did and it drives me crazy!

unfortunately it wasn't the sensor as I eventually took it to a garage (for a service) that had decent Landrover diagnostic software after asking a local parts supplier who I could try. They told me what it was and never got back to me on the price which was a shame as although it wasn't a 'landrover specialist' the chaps inside all drove them themselves. I ignored it until a last week when I had a rather nice tax rebate, so bought two, used from the interweb... the rest as they say is history.

I disconnected the blue wire today, but I did order the part which will be delivered on Monday. As i've had the car for the best part of 15 years and as I have no real intention of changing it buying the part new was an easy choice. It was in showroom condition until a few years ago when I started using it for work...(railway-construction) so now the headlining has started to sag, and the paint needs a good going over. I had the Heads stripped and replaced a few years ago, but regret not have a new High-lift cam shaft installed. I also replaced the original exhaust system last year as well.

There is a good chance that this year it will get a tow bar fitted to tow a small caravan, and I fancy some new Hankook tryes!

There's a how to do on here really good description and pic I'm doing mine in the summer

Hi all, sorry its been a whilst but i thought id give an update on this thread.

It turned out to be the Alarm sensor on the door pillar which i have now had replaced for a new part. Crazily the car feels 'tighter' to drive and more responsive! The most annoying thing is if someone had told me what it was 5 years ago i think i would have saved around £800-£1000 over that time. IT just goes to show, not every garage who claims to know land rovers actually does!

DON'T LET IT HAPPEN TO OTHERS!

Ah, the ultrasound one? You can turn that off with a Nanocom, I think. Seem to remember seeing something like that.
