Agree 100% with that.
Go to a backstreet garage / unregistered mobile installer & take your chance. Sooner or later you will be approaching a recognized & reputable installer to sort out your problems. Would you have a similar mentality with having gas fired heating installed in your home....i think not.
PS. The components cost alone in my Tartarini sequential system with dreamxxxl injectors would exceed £1000

Oh don't worry Yaro, i'm not taking it personally (at least after i've had morning caffiene anyway) debate is always good.

The mercedes especially from the mid 90's are very bad for rust, i got lucky with my CLK and got one without tin worm thrown in for the price, but many have from that era have the wheel arches falling out. When GM took over Mercedes the Quality went south.

Any hole in body work from an LPG filler to an antenna should not be left untreated otherwise, yes you are correct it will corrode. I think that is something that separates a quality job.

I do take your point that yes it can be done for cheaper in the EU, many things can, however the converse to that is that i dont speak the local language, would have to add in the cost of a round trip to, say Poland, not have the warranty or support from a local (ish) installer, nor would have the paperwork in order to satisfy the DVLA or insurance company.

Most installers in the UK wont warranty or certify someone else's work and if they did i would be very dubious of their integrity.

An LPG installation should be an investment into the vehicle and without the verification of the install and the correct paperwork (for the UK) it's really just money thrown away.

Like i said the upshot is Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware)

GM did not take over Daimler Benz, they were in a joint venture with Chrysler now dissolved. Even the CEO of DB said that after the union they lost the plot and were producing crap. A friends large Merc estate rusted so badly that is was condemmed at 7 years old.:eek:

Before the Mercs my wife had a Porsche....that ended in the engine eating it'self on the A1. Very common problem with intermediate shaft bearings it seems. That was an expensive fix - just out of warranty so the dealers didn't want to know.

Mine broke the crank at 400 miles, gear box seized not long after, the list is too long to type:rolleyes: A real heap of **** Porsche, by comparison the P38 is ultra reliable:)

944s forgot to mention it suffered total brake failure twice:eek: I was doing around 50K miles a year at the time but I only managed about 6k in 10 months in the Porsche as it was always off the road.:mad:
 
That site has good prices. I'd like to fit a bigger tank, and the price on there is just over £50 cheaper than I can find anywhere else.

What's the shipping to the UK going to be like on a heavy LPG tank though...? My Polish is awful I'm afraid.

yaro has a point, but you can get good price here by shopping around..

if you can do so then fit yourself...its easy...the skill is in setting it up...but that can all be done by obd2
 
If it helps you any I have just had my P38 4.6 converted at Leeds Lpg. The filler has been installed inside petrol flap, so nice and tidy, runs like a dream. They supplied and fitted for £1100, and it has been added onto the UK Lpg register which replaces the paper certificates. My first service is after 1000 miles which is more of a checkup than anything, and they give a 2 years warranty
