hi guys my p38 has become somewhat unreliable in the past few days , starts and runs from cold then when warm the engine turns over but doesn’t fire , no spark at plugs checked this with inline test lamps immobiliser is switched of in the becm settings
Nothing shows up with faultmate anyone think it’s the crank sensor ?

A crank sensor can break down when warm and become fine when it gets cold!! Usually after 20 minutes of cooling down. Good luck;)

Cheers guys this is what I’m hoping , it’s never been changed and she is nearly 18 years old so things give up with age as well as mileage although there’s only 82,000 on the clock the age must be taken into account I guess

Check the Rev counter when turning on the starter. Should register(about 200). Try coolant temp sender val preferably using a nano.

have a look at your main fusebox under bonnet ,if I remember rightly had same problem took a long time to find the culprit !!!!! I changed my crank sensor still the same so I can send you my original if you want as I now don't have the rangie ,,,and I know mines ok ,, so , the culprit turned out to be one of the fuses was overheating and shown burn marks underneath , but none for months and months " if this makes sense " so as you look from front of car at the fusebox it was the 3rd from right on bottom row , so have a good look at it and its neighbour also have a smell ,,,I had exact same rangie ""thor engine v8 vogue , ok mate if you want it message me you address and will put it in post ,,regards mozz

I had the same issue just a couple of months ago with the same model and year, changed the crank sensor and good as gold.
