hi all i am new to the range rover thing i have just got my self a 98 4.0 se and when its cold it will not pick up properly when you put your foot down it feals like it is miss fireing but when its warm every thing is fine also when its been cruseing on motorway the rev counter starts to jump and it will only do about 90 mph i have changed all plugs leads filters dont know what else to do thanks
 
Steveo Check the Crank Position Sensor for "Gunge" (or better still just replace it) ...

You got any "Fault Messages" poppin up ?????
 
Its a Little electrical Connection fitted to /near the pulley (its tells the Ignition system when to fire the plugs & in the right order (sort of) its fitted at the front near the water pump assembly

the crank sensor is at the rear of the block on opposite side from starter in the same place goes into flywheel,you are pointing out where the cam sensor is the previous pic is the crank sensor
