have you got good local indy near you that can plug it in for you? or you could try new thread asking if anybody down your way can help

hope u get it sorted mate, i had the exact thing 2 weeks ago.....i ended up being stung for a new becm:doh::doh:, id like to know if i can get the old un back and get it checked out???

iv been told because the check engine light doesnt come its lost its sync between bcm and engine management ecu so needs to be put in to security learn mode by rovacom or similar does this sound right??

yes 8 times in 7 weeks mine went. now i got sync mate from blackbox to put it back in sync. pm irishrover he the main man with becm

The Synch Mate is ideal for reteaching the rolling code between the BECM and engine ecu which sometimes becomes corrupt. It cannot however unlock a BECM which has immobilised itself.
Unlikely that you will get your old BECM back as it's probably gone for checking and unlocking..to be sold on again. As far as I am aware, no new BECM's are being made, they are "Refurbishing" the ones taken in as exchange. Surprising what a difference a bit of shotblasting makes to the aluminium top cover together with a new label!!!:behindsofa:

Did one some time ago and the top cover was a bit mucky and "Chalky", must have got wet. Took it to a local place and got it bead blasted...came back better than a new one. Apart from the faded label, you would have sworn it was straight off the production line!!

who did the BECM for you.

McDonalds in Oswestry:rolleyes::rolleyes:..not a happy bunny wit them, i put a post up on lrl4x4 but it got deleted.

they quoted 3hrs labour for the rear break pipes but doubled it added a bit then added vat, and came up with a price 3x originally quoted, alrite i had a new exhaust piece but that was added to the origiginal bill.

next time ill take my chance and go off the info on here and do it myself....**** going back to them!!!
