A friend of mine is looking for a rangie to pull his caravan. Are the deisels any good for the job or are they a bit gutless for towing. Can it be chipped ? I know you can get a huge inecooler for these .

Should be fine for towing

Can be chipped (See the many threads on here)

Bigger Intercooler seems to be a waste of time (See threads on here)

i have one 2,5 dse i tow caravans for a living and mine pulls ok .

I tow a 1.5 tonne caravan with my DHSE and from time to time a trailer with my excavator which is about 3 tonnes all up. I have a PSI Power box fitted and it tows very well, not even strugling in the Pennines last year with the caravan.
