I’m getting 13.7v when car is running from my icarsoft reader. How would that trigger a fuel code?
Are you getting 13.7v all the time?
A mates van has intermittent charging fault and throws up P0087 when it's not charging and voltage drops below 12v.
I keep telling him to buy a new alternator, but he hasn't yet.

Basically not enough volts to run the high pressure fuel pump.

Battery reads 12.8 when stationary. 13.7 when running and over 14 when foot it put down. I think we can rule out the battery. It looks quite new.

Anyone got a link to a fuel pressure sensor for a 2.7? Might try that next.. I’ve already ordered a fuel filter.

It should read over 14v when running, not just on foot down.
Have you checked voltage when driving?
Mate's van would be over 14v, but when I drove it with obd diagnostic connected it would suddenly drop to 12v for a while then back up to over 14v. If it didn't go back up for a long while it triggered p0087.

Yes I’ve driven it with live data for 15 mins several times. Stays around 13.7v. It drops to 8v when I start it.

Can you clear the fault with the diagnostics you have?

Clear it once the car is running and take it for a drive see if it comes back, If not then restart the car and see if it comes back.

I am wondering if the bat dropping to 8v while starting may not be enough for the ecus and it may just be throwing the fault because of the low voltage.

Just cos a battery looks clean/new dont mean its good.

That could be blocked fuel filter or faulty low pressure fuel pump. Possibly faulty high pressure fuel pump.
