Well i'm must be under valuing my disco :)
Only one owner, no rust, original metal every where, never failed an MOT, full history, and 44520miles only in 17 years.
The only time a spanner has been near the engine is to change the plugs, water pump, battery, oil and the oil pressure switch. Brilliant. :D

What exactly is wrong with the one in the op like ? Did you go view it and its a rot box ?

I agree who is to say its rotten etc, it has had a fortune spent on it and to the right person it will be worth it. If you bought a good rot free standard Disco for say £1600 it would cost you far far more to do that much to it.

It all depends on what you want. My Disco 1 is rot free, I know because I cut out what small amount there was.

d1s prices are so many miles apart now fro condition as they are at an age, so why would you pay over the odds and under the odds, a lot of d1's are scrap, but with time and welding etc they come back onto the road, so if one is not rotten and very sound it has to be worth a bit more than the average price, especially with the spec like that has, if you are not able to do the work yourself you soon can run up cost getting things done right!

Is this a pi $$ take? Annoys me that people try selling discos to possibly unwitting buyers and dont mention the rust spots. Its just wrong.

By any chance did you read the specs on it???

Please have a good read of the spec and extras, if I could buy it for that in the Euro equivalent I'd be there in the morning to collect at that price with cash in my hand!!!

I agree for dodgy sellers but that looks to be well cared for and well specced for the money. I will put my own up for around €20,000 and look get a few extra too.

mine has low ish mileage with a lot of history and all the offroad mods, its rust free ..undersealed with expensive stuff nearly new, and I wouldn't let mine go for less than 2.5k because I know u prob wont find one as clean, I don't think any enthusiast would ever get their money back ....but finding a good example is well worth the money.

to be honest i don't think his price is unreasonable for the spec it has. it would cost me about that to get mines to that spec including buying it & the bits.

Disco 2 money maybe but as we know some disco 2 are rubbish and ready to be scrapped! If its sound underneath and in the usual places it wont be any worse then a Disco 2 and the extras described are expensive kit. Only thing to me is that speccing up your own motor is half the fun of a landy.

They've reduced it from £4300 to £3700. The point im making is; if it doesnt say rust free or doesnt show a pic of the boot floor, anyone who knows a disco assumes its got rot. So I assume it does and carry on looking at other discos for half thst price with same kit with rot sorted.
I just think its overpriced as described. If your lucky he will mot it! Wow.

I think you would be very very lucky to find a disco that's been repaired to a high standard with all the high end toys that's on this for £1850. But if you do find one can you point it out to me as I would be interested in buying it to save myself 8k plus :)

To be honest if anyone who know Discos and are after the spec it has the they wont be put off by it not saying anything about rot.
They will go and look at it and will check all the places they rust and will walk away if they find any.
A lot of people looking to buy any vehicle will think it is overpriced until they come to sell then ask the earth.

I dont think its that unreasonable providing all the rust has been taken care of.2 arb lockers and the arb compressor are like 1800? Plus all the other extras, definitely one of the better ones ive seen.

Hi.

Well I have had a good look at all the photo's inside and out, and it looks to be in good condition for it age. Obviously I can not see under the carpets, wheel arches etc.

I had a good look at the specification and all the High quality extras fitted to it and if some one were to buy it and strip the extras off it you would just about get your money back and end up with a free car.

I can not imagine anyone would be daft enough to spend all that money on good quality extras if the car is a rust bucket , but you never know!!

It has a lot of miles on it, so it is not just corrosion to look out for it is wear in gearbox, Transfer box , Engine etc etc.........

Superficially it looks to be a very good buy for someone who wants a car with all the extras, but who does not want to buy the parts and pay some one to fit them or even fit themselves.

Check out parts prices alone and if needed labour costs, and then look at the second hand car prices. Not all Disco 1 's are rust buckets.

This car could be an absolute bargain for the right person. Not every one has the time, tools, skills , place to work etc or is a DIY expert.

I know how much time and effort and parts prices/costs it takes to build a car to that specification as I have done something similar to my Disco over the years.

Just remember it is "horses for courses" Someone will buy it and think it is their dream car and that they have got it at a bargain price

Regards

Jonathan

A free car but it won't be going anywhere until money is spent to return it back on the road. Think about it.:)
