More pallets brokid up today and made into racking but when the light got too low I retreated to the garden workshop with mi solar stuff and started wiring.

What manner of jollop are you favouring these days?
On this occasion ferric chloride. It’s not an acid but only contains one magic and brass contains two magics. The jollop pinches one from the brass and it dissolves. It can be used over and over again until the jollop is full of magics and can’t pinch any more. 🤷‍♂️

Oh, you have to hang it face down and brush now and then or you get streaks.

Managed a few days in the new lockup. This afternoon I plucked up the courage to couple the trailer to Henry and gingerly tow it out of LU1 onto the road. Only because one of the neighbours called to pick up his fishing tackle and watched the roof for clearance. It’s not the same as hand balling it out as the front of the trailer drops onto the coupling, making the rear lift up. That and the slope to the road made it a twitchy moment but the roof vents just cleared the door frame before the wheels dropped over the threshold.
A few hours of stolen sunshine for the solar and daughter rocked up to watch me back into LU2.
It’s staying in LU2 for now while I bottom LU1 and distribute the crap between the two.

All in preparation for a spurt as the weather improves and onto phase 872, windows and paint. HS2?….. I’ve chit it. 🤣

It’s amazing how much crap I collect. All those years of just needing a bit of something to finish a job and I can’t bring myself to throw anything out.
I gritted my teeth and managed to fill five bin bags with offcuts and flex and useless junk. I fixed one of the local dog walkers generator months ago. He found it in a skip and wanted it for his allotment shed so naturally he handed it to me as I’ve nothing better to do. 🙄
Finally came to collect it in his works tractor yesterday. He is a council tree surgeon.
Took all my bin bags anorl for the skip in the yard. 😃

Back over there today for the final tidy but I’m struggling a bit. I’ve suffered quite a bit of muscle wastage while in plaster and although the ankle is holding up, everything else feels like I’ve been to the gym. The workout must be doing me good and should stand me in good stead for my first appointment with the physio on the third of April. I should be back in work shortly after that so back into the normal eight on, six off routine.

Oh, and my solar array is working a treat. A normal plug in Dewalt battery charger is about £20. The one that plugs into a car socket and charges a 18v battery off 12v is nearer piggin £80.
I gave in and got one for £70 😳

The solar box is now charging all my power tools. It’ll be a long time before it’s free power but the convenience is priceless. 👍

Muscle wastage ?
How long did you have the cast on for.
Have you been back to the hospital since you removed it.

Bout three months. My right calf is half the size of the other now. Plus the fact I couldn’t get about and spent weeks sat on my arse.
Went in and got my good hiding off the nurses. The surgeon was very happy with the X-ray they took but less so with the scar. I think the silicone strip they put over it disagreed with me. I’m on top of it now and it’s much better but he wants me back in for a prod in a month, just to be sure.
My sick note runs out on the second but I’ll have to get an extension as the physio won’t be assessing until the third. I’m sure he will be giving me the all clear and I’ll be back in work.

The big test will be a ten hour shift. I can drive about locally no problem but I’ll have to see how I last.

I hope the nurses didn't leave bruises.
Spose the cast was on for a while, time flys when you're having fun.
You'll just have to stop the bus and have a wonder to stretch out.
