A little taster to wet your oxidised flanges.
I know it’s been a while and I have a backlog of purchases awaiting transformation to adorn the gentleman’s mobile club.
A little peep inside shows the beginnings of a kitchenette. Naturally a gentleman wouldn’t undertake domestic duties while on expedition but one needs somewhere to keep the ships biscuits and port.

The outside is now awaiting insulation and outer skin. Most of the electrics have been completed excluding routing the rear light clusters but that’s only half an hours cussing away.

It looks a little larger than it actually is in the photos but more than adequate as one’s base camp for hostelry exploration.

A few months ago I built up the courage to buy a little something from Alli Express. A gamble? Probably.

pricing up batteries and solar panels and bee em essisis and the like I quite fancied going Lifepo.

Now a 200ah battery from sum twunt in burminghamshire was going to set me back sixteen undrid Ill issued tickets. Not an easy feat when one only issues five good ens a night.
Any road up for those in the know, these arrived from ping pong today.
Took two months

£250 :D

I already have the 200w solar panel.

it’s a flat, glue on one and I know these ain’t as good as the pointable flavour but I don’t want it to be seen from sea level as it will distract from the 50s theme. The MPPT controller is already fitted in mi electric cupboard next to the fuse array and the batteries will also live in there now I have iddy biddy Lifepo cells.
I’ll have to source a BMS next and get the whole lot talking nice to each other. Oh and add the option of charging from the mains as the need arises.

Sounds fun!
(Didn't understand a word!:);))

Getting closer to continuing the build. Won’t be a moment too soon as an expedition to our colonies in the americas is long overdue.
There is desperate need overseas for concerted missionary work to re-educate in the pronunciation of aluminium and solder. Just limewashing my pith helmet and sourcing a handsome supply of moustache wax.
