Right I seem to have a overheating problem on the new disco, it was gone last night when it was cooler when I picked it up but today I drove it into town in 35 degrees and it overheats, takes around 20 KM's at 100 kph to overheat but I've tryed bleeding it and that made no difference, I've checked the thermostat and that is working so now I'm thinking blocked rad or Knackered water pump ?

Any other ideas or am I about right ? Meant to be getting a MOT equivalent tomorrow so need it fixed ASAP

is it a 3.9 if it is blocks are prone for cracking behind liners but rad and wp are easy enough to check first

Pump has a slight and I mean slight ammount of play in the shaft but spins freely so doubt there's much wrong with it

What would be the proper way to bleed this engine and which way around should the thermostat be. I'll probably put it all back together and try it again before I condemns the block

35 degress.....ohhhh and surf....ohhhhhhhhhh....can i come over with a spare engine for you please??

Does anyone know any other viscous units that are the same as this one, preety sure that's the problem. 36 mm spanner to undo normal thread
