hi all have just been offerd an overdrive a fairy one for 50 quid but it is noisy and needs a new syncrow to engage can the parts for these still be bought and can i get it rebuilt and serviced any where in lincolnshire .also will it still be a good deal if i have to spend a bit on it or should i leave it in my mates shed as i know theses are expensive to buy any way whats your thoughts cheers

You can get refurb kits for them on fleabay, about £80 I think without looking but don't know if it would solve the problem. They're just the input gear and needle rollers.

thanks will have a look but think i will check it out before i buy it and see if anyone local to me can check it over to see whats wrong with it if there not to complicated might have a go rebuilding it my self

I'd say that was a good price. I have seen them go for £300 on ebay!

However, I have one on my diesel and I spent a lot of time trying to fnd the series I wanted with OD and I I'm not that convinced. I recon its worth about another 10-15mph and it makes it a bit quieter, but thats about it.

It might be a bit better in petrol engined series.

£300 and the rest! When I was looking for one I couldn't get one for that....I ended up getting a Rocky Mountain one and they're proper expensive (but better).

I wouldn't be without one if you ever go on a motorway.
