hi all, been offered an overdrive for my series 3, i'm up for buying it, i just don't know what to look for with regards to it being any good. anyone got any tips as to what to look out for?

cheers
Ben :)

Make sure its got the separate gear that fits in the back of the gearbox, apart from any obvious play the needle bearing sleeve is what usually goes. You can buy the needle bearing and input gear separately as a refub kit but costs about 80 quid

thanks for your reply. i spoke to the fella who has it earlier, he says its a fairy overdrive, he took it off his land rover when he scrapped it due to it having a terminally rotten chassis. comes with all the bits and fitting instructions, and he wants £100 for it. does that sound about right?
