Hi,

I know I’ve been busy with the L322 of late and have a take of jobs to do to get the P38 back on the road but I’ve just been told that there are a couple of outstanding recall campaigns on the beastie.

Do do A255 or A359 mean anything to any of you ? (Other than them being toads somewhere 😂)

I thought I’d ask before I incur the scorn of my local dealer -who, I think, have no technicians that have ever worked on a P38 !

Cheers

Bob

I’m not sure of the recall numbers above but the info should be available somewhere. I remember the one about the hi/low plastic cam lobe which I posted on here and there was a weird one couple years back about recalling for winches that no one seemed to have fitted - Stank of scam that one did.

Probably a mistake. Mine had some so I went down the Stealers and it was to do with the factory fitted Warn winch. Well, there was no sign of 1 ever being fitted so they just corrected it.

Yeah, I think quite a few on here had mysterious fires shortly after they gave up on the EAS.

Mysterious fires in the ashtray?

Reason for recall

There is a possibility that a short circuit may occur in the cigar lighter bulb holder when the vehicle lighting system is operated.

How to check if the vehicle is recalled

Contact the local LAND ROVER dealership or manufacturer. You will not need to pay for anything involving the recall.

How the manufacturer will repair

Disconnect the illumination feed to the lighter and remove the bulb.

Number of affected vehicles

1097

My 1998 says it is prone to cooling system leaks ... says they will replace all the hoses for me :) How do you find out if a car ever got fixed (JLR dealer, i guess),,, and would they honour it after all this time?
