I am considering planning a Hebrides off road break with a Land Rover bias, but other makes will be welcome of course. This will take me A LOT of time and cost me money but I think could be well worth it. This is a toe in the water to get an idea of numbers. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't get bevvied up and fantasize about an off road trip when you know deep down you can't make it/afford it etc. I want serious people.

I am thinking about 3 nights, 1 in Harris, 2 in Lewis. Off road trails, narly but NOT winch challenge stuff. There is some spectacular scenery and some great off road trails. The wildlife is also amazing. I am going to try and get a 4 hour trip in a rib to see some sea life and other parts of the coastline. I will sort accommodation/food/drink. I live here and have an idea what works etc.

The cost per person will be confirmed once I have a proper idea of numbers. EVERYTHING will be included, ferry, food b&b etc. Not fuel and NOT booze as most people on Lz are alchoholics. Everything else though will be included.

I would like to plan a trip so people have NO hassle. Everything is done for them so all they have to do is enjoy the scenery and have fun

An idea of numbers and a suggested time of year would be great. Be sensible about time of year though as its great to think Ohh I would love to see the Hebrides in the winter and do some serious bogging. The storms and the being stranded because the ferry wont run might not be so funny.

Well thats it guys and girls have a think about it and sorry for bad grammer and spelling mistakes. I am a mechanic/crofter NOT literary genius.

Again. He'll of a way from Oxford for me for 3 nights. BUT. Could be persuaded price dependant. Would also rather camp than b&b's?

Sounds great, and I know some people who moved to Lewis a few years ago. I don't think my finances would allow at the moment though. Good luck, and I'll check back if I come into some cash.

Ok guys thanks for the feedback, amping is no problem if you wish but I will be sorting some cut price accommodation out and the plan would be to keep the party together in the evening for the social side of things.

Maybe camping is the way forward?? I am not sure.

it's a shame you are so far north for most bods on here.

There is a really nice guest house with a restaurant as well that would make a stonking place to stay, that was in my mind.

Yes its a steady strip up north but well worth it. Its completely different to anything in the south. Maybe the trip should be 4 nights not 3. When people come here they are usually from the south of England, and say its like being in a different world. Its a bit "outside the box" if you know what I mean. Anyway, people that want to come will have a look on the net at what this place has to offer.

Great idea, but if we were to come that far we'd probably combine it with a full touring holiday, maybe meander up over a few days, do the 3 or 4 nights, then meander back down ..

Very interested, but can't be this year for me .. already got stuff booked.

T'is a cracking idea, but it would have to be a part of our annual pilgrimage of the destilleries tour normally mid June before wee beastie open season

So for me, as we're more into weekend off roading and caravaning there's a slight conflict, as you are correct there needs to be an evening social part to it for everyone to get the most out of the experience.

Maybe you need to look at several accomodation types and group them.

i.e. Those who want to B & B together, those who want to camp together.

We erm always do our own food too BBQing fresh caught mackrel etc
