These fond memories of holidays as kids, or with the kids/grandkids is what I'm hoping to recreate. My little one was 1 on Thursday, the Mrs and I have plans to truddle in the landy to a nearby campsite this summer and relax for a few days, see how it goes, if it works out (not too slow, expensive on fuel, noxious etc) we would go a bit further afield- Dorset, maybe even on to the continent. I'd love to hear of any adventures out that way, France particularly.

The storey of the duvets in the back of the 109 is lovely.

Portsmouth to saint marlo, nice crossing but never seen any camp sites. Hotels are cheap & plentiful.
All roads have no pot holes

Amazing,. If it can be done in an open to S1, hopefully a hard top S3 shouldn't be out the question.

We've done a fair bit of camping around France, 2x trips all the way round, about 3 weeks each time. They were in my old Honda Civic which in all honesty was probably the best car I've ever owned. We tried to stay in municipal (public) camp sites, they were much cheaper and nicer than most private ones (think big, caravan filled sites with swimming pools and loud music, each caravan with a sky dish on the side) thats not to say all private ones arent nice.

I just wonder how bearable long runs in the series will be. Time will tell!

Do you rent the whole chateau or rooms like a B&B?

It's always a blur... too much cider champagne as I don't have to do any driving ;)
Just have to read road book for directions.
this year st Malo to quimper. 2 day tour but we go for 5 days.
Chateaux are always happy to allow photo tours to stop. Due to 30 cars on tour we stop in hotels.
