We bought our TD4 6 years ago and the chap showed me a receipt regarding the chip. I have only just started to take interest in the vehicle as a result of starting to maintain it myself rather than use garages. The performance of the vehicle is not as good as it was 6 years ago and was wondering how I deduce what performance modification was done and whether it is no longer working. Was thinking of fitting a Synergy 2

Thanks

If it was something like superchips, then they just do a remap as far as I know.....so if it has been into a main dealer in the mean time and had a test book update this could have overwritten the remap.
If you still have they receipt then maybe they will remap it for free?

Ok. I will hunt high and low for the receipt, but could I fit a Synergy 2 anyway?

Degraded MAF over time perhaps? I'm thinking of going back to Bosch and remap, and I would take some readings with ODBII reader when done to get a feel for the MAF signal, so if it degrades I could tell.
