About 10 days ago the battery of my 2000 diesel Land Rover Freelander went flat. I recharged it but the engine would not start, even though it rotated. I had the fuel syringe pump checked - ok, the immobilizer checked – ok, Alas it has not started. Looks as if the fuel does not reach the cylinders. If you have any ideas on what the problem might be, please advice. Thanks Tad

fuel shut off solonoid goosed, lift pump shagged, injector pump knackered.
check the solonoid first

May possibly be the cam sensor. This is a common problem, usually linked to intermittant starting problems. Check through some of the threads to see if it sounds familiar.

Hope this helps.
