But...

I'm looking to have a set of (non-branded) tyres fitted to my replacement alloy wheels. Someone at work suggested BlackCircle.Com are reasonable inexpensive option. Has anyone used these or an alternative online service.

Normally I just go to Quick Fit but they appear to be stupidly expensive now.

I've recently found that most independents these days can do as good a deal as the online stores.

I recently had 4 new tyres fitted to the Discovery and the Indy fitted and balanced them for the same price as the Web wanted for delivery not including fitting.
That said had 2 tyres fitted to my daughters car through a website and these were fitted at a National Tyre Centre at a time of my choice and much cheaper than NTS could do them for

use to order from tyres direct but they started getting too pricey on there malastesta kaimens so i found these guys www.4x4tryes.co.uk instead arn't to badly free delivery if u get them deliver to your place of work

Have used Camskill, and Tyreleader co uk (based in Germany) they use DPD , who tell you day and hour of delivery. Tyreleader you have to order min of two . Just got two 204/70r15 suv tyres for £78 delivered .
For fitting use a mid size tyre chain , and pay cash

NON-BRANDED tyres!!!

Sorry but this a new concept to me.
Does this mean that there are tyres on the market that cannot be traced back to a manufacturer?
What happens when they go wrong?
How do you stand with your insurer after an incident/accident?

i think he means non leading brands by relatively unknown manufacturers. You can take a bit of a leap of faith , but all EU tyres have to meet regulations. Some brands are well known in other parts of world, but are newbys in UK , and quite a few are operated by major tyre firms for an indigenous market.

I was remembering a case many years ago of a guy who was selling second hand tyres that he had imported from Europe - or so he said.
What he was actually selling were a collection of cheap knock-offs that you wouldn't want on your bicycle mixed in with some decent brands that had been condemned in Germany as they were years old.

I use a little back street place in St.Helens (Sherdley Tyres) he offers me excellent good value service and has only been beaten by the on line places once but as he was only £2 more I still used him ( it was for a pair of top of the range high performance tyres).
They only carry run of the mill stuff but can get anything next day.
Its all too easy to be taken in by the thoughts that the big boys and On line will be cheaper.

I have also heard good reports about Camskill, but my local man was £2 more and I didn't have to get them delivered and take them to be fitted.

nearly always use
Buy online Off-Road 4x4 SUV tyres – mytyres.co.uk

been using them for years too.
within the last 6 months or so bought 4 snow tyres for my lexus,
2 for my sons vw polo, and 2 for my daughters ford KA..

they used to deliver within 48 hours, but now takes a day or two more..
plus the fitting at your local tyre fitters, unless its an old ford or vw and i done them myself......
(silly old fool I know - but done it to prove I can still do it)....

Give Ct tyres a call in birtley with your sizes. Very popular with taxi drivers, loads of part worns from £30, unbranded new etc.

Oops sorry!!!! As these are just going to be used as a spare set on old alloys, I would rather not spend too much money on a big brand name. I'm simply looking for a less expensive brand which meets all EU regulations.
