Hi All,
Hoping that you guys may know the cause of my clunk, on my 2004 Freelander V6.
The noise is a real loud single 'clunk', it is most definitely coming from the drivers side front. The noise happens when you have turned right and back left again mostly. It doesnt make the noise if you were to turn the steering wheel when standing still, so its difficult to trace.
I have replaced the antil roll bar links, anti roll bar rubbers, lower suspension arm, the rear suspension arm housing and the noise still persists. I am thinking the noise may be caused by a dodgy top mount. There is no cracking to the spring and it appears to be seated correctly.
I am tempted to just buy a second hand complete strut and just swap it out.. but dont really want to buy untested second hand parts.
Any ideas please?
