Hello guys, looking for some advice re service parts.

Just got my 1st L322, 2002 4.4 V8.

Im looking to do full service including gearbox.

Do I need to use original parts or are after market just as good?

many thnx

Where possible stick to OEM.

Sometimes the cost of OEM is not much more than AM, but in others OEM is considerably more, so a decent AM supplier is more 'palletable'.

My rule is, if it is a safety system i.e. Steering or brakes, stick to OEM, else pick the the best alternative.

Only place never to fanny about with is the gearbox oil and filter...use only a genuine Filtran filter and quality correct spec gearbox oil.....yes the oil is expensive, but anything else will trash your box costing a darn sight more!

agree with comments on gearbox above, i tend to use britpart air filter & pollen filter and M.A.N oil filter with castrol oil, i also use decent brand spark plugs, although never done the fuel filter yet as i run lpg and only do about a mile a day on petrol
