I have found one (in Germany:crazy and it`s coming my way..... When I change it, can I just use a nomal wrench and my hands to tighten the nuts on the new damper? Or do I need extra power to tighten them?
Ok, now, the damper has arrived..... The STC786, only it`s over 2 inches shorter then the one fitted right now... By my reckoning, it will not fit, or am I missing something!?
Could it be that my Disco is modified in that area? I can hardly imagine this.
Funny thing is though that on every website where I can find this damper, it mentions a weight of 1.8kg for the damper.... If I weigh mine, it`s just over 1.5kgs!! There`s definitively something wrong here.
STC786 is correct there is only one damper/number. The damper is fitted extended just a bit to fit, so fit it and you will see it open/close when turning the steering.
