My Disco has had a CF radio installed somewhen in its life. But I never use CDs in the car now, and the aftermarket radio doesn't look quite right. Plus the steering wheel controls don't work.

So, I'd like to revert back to a standard system. I have no idea what was installed at the factory, but there is the standard rear door sub and dashboard controls. Someone must have an original head unit gathering dust?

What year is your disco, I have a 94, 300 with the original stereo, I'm not getting rid, but can take a photo if that helps

Your D1 model year would be handy, and if your looking for the top of the range then it was the Phillips head unit + tape + 6 CD multi changer positioned under the drivers seat and base loudspeaker in the tailgate.

Below is my old unit, I pulled out and all the Phillips kit and replaced it with a Pioneer system with a 6 CD player both far superior in their functions, and the head unit having a sub pre-out able to install an additional amp to power a proper 10” sub.
I’ve never bothered the dash controls that hidden behind the steering wheel, which sometimes didn’t do what they supposed to do… plus the head unit is in easy reach anyway.

I have one of those head units, came out of my 1998 300td1.
I only took it out cos the CD player packed up.
Recently I put it in my D2 cos that after market one packed up plugged it into the existing speakers. It sounded Soooooo much better!! Much deeper more powerful tone. AND it worked off the steering wheel controls.
BUT it couldn't drive the existing CD player. Obvs.
so once fixed the other one went back in.:(
If i could find another original CD player both of them would be going back in!;)
