I'm ordering some bits and don't know wether I need brake pads with or without the sensor bit for my 96 300tdi.

Does it make a difference if I order them without the sensors?

Anyone know where there is a guide to fitting driver door window mechanism jobby?

Cheers

Get underneath and have a look at your caliper and see if you have a thin cable with a small plug on it - if you have this then you have the sensor type pad :)

if you dont connect the brake pad wires there will be a light on the dash
check one of the drivers side calipers for 2 black wires, one that is earthed to the axle, if you have them then you need to get the right pads

I thought the light came on when it was short circuit, not open circuit?

Just thinking about it, how much wear is too much on brake discs where mot is concerned?

the rear discs 'grooves' from the pads are worn about 1.5mm in

Is it worth me changing them?

With ref to the brake pad, with or without wire, you could go for the wired option if your not sure, only be pence in the cost, or should be, if you dont need the wire, cut it off, wont harm the pads...
