Hi all what is the maximum cold cranking amperage of a yellow top optima ive seen up to 600 is there another one above this?

They are a complete waste of money and only purchased by complete suckers - half the cost of them goes on duping people into thinking they are better than ones which sell for half as much, which are twice as good!

What would be a better battery to go for i have a winch,4 roof lights,two front spots and two radios at the moment

Anything with about 100 ah and about 850-900 cca - here's summat better for starters

That is the make I was going to suggest - I have a pair of Numax CXV 1000 deep cycle leisure batteries and they are superb.

but they are leisure batteries??? are they ok for cranking?

Yes, they are Marine/Leisure batteries. Starts my landie fine. Jump started my GT4 from them too (didn't need to start the landie to do so, despite me trying to jump start the GT4 from my wifes fiesta and failing miserably)

Marine/leisure are fine! With the optima yer paying well over £100 for a yellow (or red) funny shaped case.

I paid £38 for my Disco battery three years ago, it's crancked, winched, lighted the way and heated 100's of brews and still going strong. As others have quite rightly said, Optima batteries are over priced W A N K
