JUst fitted a red top optima to my disco, the battery was stored from new for about 3months went to start the disco and nothing. Now the question do optimas come charged there was nothing with it to say either way!??

Was it 2nd hand or new?

We got a 2nd hand one that had been used for a month and stood for 6 (poor bloke got another red top, thinking his was dud, it was his split charge system.)

I've wondered that too, was gonna buy a new one. Never noticed it saying they came charged

It was new and had not been fitted until saturday the little cap on the + terminal hadn't even been off.

Hi.I have recently bought a red top Optima battery for my 300TDi Disco.It was brand new unused and came fully charged.Hope this helps.

They should come fully charged. If a battery like that came uncharged it would be damaged as it will sulfate.
