Stopped in traffic waiting for bus to pull out.
All of a sudden the speedo goes all the way round the clock and back to again. !!!

What's that all about???

It happened just as a motorbike went past the other way.

Coincidence ??

What vehicle?

On my 110 Td5 the speedo sometimes flicks up to 50mph just as I'm about to fire up the engine. Done it a few times over the last few years - not sure why?!!!!

If it's a new thing then it's the computer resetting itself.

If it's an old thing then it's definitely the parraell universe thing

Chunky, If I was moving I could agree.....but I was stationary, and the needle went up past 100

There something about the output shaft for the speedo shifting or even following the revs. Think speedo capput. Maybe not the cable. Way to check is remove the speedo from dash and connect a drill up

I think you will find the transeever thingy on the very
back of your gearbox is having a whinge.
they have alectrickery and not a cable

:eek::eek:

nothings ever fekkin easy , is it ??

It's all working ok at the mo so I think I'll leave it till it breaks (easier to fix)

you could try fitting a suppresor after the alternator as you may be getting voltage spikes which can cause some crazy gremlins in your elastitrickery system and will cost you all of a fiver.
